The position reports to the Managing Director and forms an integral link in the Executive Management team of the airline. Ultimately, the incumbent will be responsible and accountable for the smooth functioning of all ground operations at all Domestic Airports within Namibia, and Regional & International Airports to ensure an effective and efficient service to all passengers. The position will be responsible for the provision and maintenance of ground services and ground handling contracts at Domestic, Regional & International Airports regarding passengers and ramp services in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the Managing Director and the Board of Directors.
•Sets clear objectives, introduce appropriate changes and improvements and maintain the quality of service. •Negotiation and management of all ground handling contracts. •Securing financial resources and ensuring that these resources are properly utilized. •Negotiating and controlling expenditure against budgets. •Managing people effectively by developing positive relationships with colleagues and team members.

In this regard, the successful candidate must be subjected to an employee vetting process. •Strong academic background from a reputable tertiary institution. •A proven track record of success in operations management with leadership and personnel management skills. •Lead and conduct contractual negotiations at the highest level. •Work cross-functionally and with a team to get tasks done. •Demonstrate energy, vision, integrity, and passion for the success of Air Namibia’s Airport Services. •An efficient, practical problem-solver. •Must be able to work in a high pressured environment.
•Establishing and maintaining the trust and support of team members. •Provide an efficient service and communication network (both internally and externally). •Responsible for quality control and safety management within the division. •Monitor and control measures within the division as required by our Safety Management System and Quality Audit Management documents. •Alignment of sub-contractors quality control and safety management systems with our own.
EDUCATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
•A Bachelor’s degree in Business or logistics with a strong focus on planning and commercial understanding. •A relevant Master’s degree will be an added advantage. •A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Airport operations with at least 5 years’ at managerial level.
