The purpose of this job is to accomplish line maintenance and maintain a fleet of modern aircraft ensuring that the required standards are met and the operating program is achieved in an efficient and safe manner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
2.1 SACAA type “A” and “C” License with a minimum of one company specific type rating endorsed therein.
2.2 Experience on other fleet type and/or other Group 8 Airframe and Group 5 Engine categories, as well as previous airline experience, would be advantageous.
2.3 Preference will go to a candidate with C208 Cessna Caravan licence.
2.4 Operational experience in a line maintenance environment with proven troubleshooting skills.
2.5 Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently.
2.6 Have a willingness to be flexible in order to meet deadlines and overcome operational problems.
2.7 Proven up to date knowledge of relevant airworthiness and Health and Safety legislation.
2.8 Proven ability to communicate issues to management.
2.9 Knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
2.10 Will attend training as and when required to do so.
3.1 Accountable for the correct application of the knowledge and competence applied to all work done within the scope of a certificate of authority as well as ensuring all work is done only within the scope of a certificate of authority.
3.2 Must comply with the Company’s Operational Procedures.
3.3 Ensure that all paperwork is up to date and correct according to standard operating procedures.
3.4 The employee shall be accountable for ensuring operations are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations and standards of the Operator and within the confines of the AOC and relevant operational specifications.
3.5 Responsible for the OHS in their area of responsibility and accountability reporting into this role.
3.6 Accountable for the management of safety risks and security threats to aircraft operations.
4.1 All maintenance must be carried out in accordance with all of the relevant instructions, regulations and procedures that have been issued by the company and the Commissioner of Civil Aviation.
4.2 To perform defect rectification and routine servicing as directed by the Team Leader.
4.3 Review the work and resources allocated and required to ensure expedient rectification of defects.
4.4 Ensure that the required standards are met and the operating program is achieved in an efficient and safe manner.
4.5 Ensure that all paperwork is attended to and of the required standard.
4.6 To ensure all maintenance you accomplish is within the scope of the approval afforded to you and further within accordance of company procedures.
4.7 Assist the Outstation Team Leader with the day to day functions at the Outstation when and where requested.
4.8 Will have adequate personal tooling as defined in the current manual of procedures.
4.9 Will provide Outstation Relief when and where requested.
4.10 Will be required to perform Avionic/Electrical tasks within the scope of authority.
4.11 Responsibilities must be carried out in accordance with Company Standards as laid out in the manuals of procedure, and Occupational Health and Safety Standards.
4.12 Will assist with any additional tasks within the context of the job description.
