The position exists to develop and market ATAZ’s products and services in order to meet customer needs and to make the institution self-sustaining, whilst complying with local and international standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Participates in the translation of ATAZ strategic and business plans into work processes to achieve
the academy’s mandate
Develops business strategies to grow the revenue base in order to achieve the shareholder’s
Makes contributions to ensure that Business Plan provisions contain adequate allocations for the
departments’ requirements, and participates in the preparation and management of annual budgets
Markets the ATAZ effectively to operators and to other potential users so as to achieve service
development and traffic growth to meet corporate objectives;
Ensures the development of a comprehensive ATAZ marketing strategy for the Academy business.
Ensures growth in the number of both local and external students at the Academy
Participates in developing and implementing sustainable training programmes which benefit the
economy of Zimbabwe.
Secures enlistment of the Academy as a training center within Africa and under ICAO, and ensures that local and international standard is achieved and maintained.
Ensures growth in the number of communities using the Academy facilities for research
Ensures improved customer care by being responsible for the needs of customers in order to make the Academy a first choice service provider.
Carries out customer surveys and timeously implements their recommendations to ensure efficiency in services delivered to customers.
Develops relationships with users in order to create smooth facilitation of students and users of the Academy.
Monitors and analyses user complaints and initiates corrective measures to deal with them;
Carries out marketing initiatives by participating in promotional activities to increase the prominence
of the Academy.
Conducts time motion survey/services audits to determine use opinion on the level and quality of
services provided by the Academy and to address the users’ concerns.
Continuously explores new business opportunities for the Academy and advises management on their
Participates in the financial management of the department.
Develops the financial, material and human resources required to manage the department efficiently.
Monitors the actual expenditure against the budget on an ongoing basis and reports accordingly.
Maintains the assets assigned to the department in a good state of maintenance and repair.
Advises management of the department’s labor requirements and ensures that adequate staff
development initiatives are implemented.
Implements the performance management system in the department to ensure that the required
standard and capacity is achieved.
Qualifications & Skills
A relevant Degree in Marketing, Commerce, Economics, or Business Administration from a recognized and reputable University
A relevant Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
8 years relevant working experience, 4 of which should be at management level in the marketing field
Other requirements and competencies
Excellent marketing skills;
Outstanding negotiating skills;
Good interpersonal and communication skills;
Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, Internet and MS power point;
Thorough knowledge of the industry
Membership to the Chartered Institute of Marketing would be an added advantage
Good business orientation
A valid 4 Driver’s Licence
