• Has authority to make immediate decisions on security matters whenever a security threat arises during operations
• Supervise Security Service providers on; passengers profiling and document verification, security of screened baggage, aircraft security search and checks, security of aircraft on the ground and ensure the security of in-flight catering.
• Ensure screening of cargo, mail and courier is properly done prior loading into RwandAir aircraft,
• Ensure screened baggage, cargo mail and courier are protected from an act of unlawful interference and escort,
• Ensure protection of arrival/departure baggage and cargo from pilferage and theft,
• Investigates and logs in reported incidents/accidents at the place of work and implement the developed appropriate preventive and corrective actions,
• Ensures that there is proper screening of cargo and freight so that it is made known from unknown,
• Ensures proper handling, carriage of firearms, dangerous goods and valuables in compliance with set standards,
• Reports security threats and maintain a log of all incidents that occurred during daily operations and provide written and verbal reports to the Deputy Security Manager in charge of operations and or the Corporate Security Manager alternatively.
• Liaise with the local authorities on all matter related to the security,
• Investigates specific matters as assigned by Deputy Security Manager Operations and/or Corporate Security Manager,
• Ensures implementation of RwandAir security program and procedures in accordance with approved International/National Aviation Security Program,
• Maintain a proactive negotiation/dialogue with South Africa immigration responding to feedback appropriately so to maximize airline security satisfaction and minimizing the number of inadmissible passengers,
• Ensure that an efficient, effective and consistent level of service and availability is provided to the airline and to be fully flexible in terms of availability to support and sustain the security operational requirements,
• Meets compliance targets as stipulated by RwandAir standards and the Security Management Team,
• Undertakes mandatory Security Training as stipulated by South Africa Civil Aviation Authority,
• To consistently treat passengers with courtesy and respect,
• Provides support to colleagues such as Security Supervisor on duty at Kigali Hub through effective teamwork,
• To consistently demonstrate the positive behaviors required to support the Company’s brand Values,
• Ensure aircraft is sealed and records details are maintained,
• Minimum education level must have university degree in any field with relevant training in law, criminal procedure or aviation law
• A sound knowledge of aviation security,
• A good knowledge of criminal procedure and investigation skills,
• More than 2 years of experience in Aviation Security field.
• Age shall not exceed 35 years
• Familiar with RwandAir operations will be an advantage
