Job Summary

You will be responsible for handling inbound cargo in accordance with HM Cargo Manual, IATA TACT Rules, and requirements of applicable authorities, country regulations, including safety and security measures.


Authority and Responsibility

  • Has the authority to make the cargo-related decision that affects the safety and/or security of Cargo Operations.
  • Has the authority to intervene and report on any clear instances of an intended act of unlawful interference to the security of the operation.


Key Accountabilities

  • Abide to all reference of quality and/or standards that are laid out in different areas of service providers that meet the safety, operational and commercial objective of the airline.
  • Notify consignees upon arrival of consignments as required.
  • Ensure correct delivery of documents and consignment.
  • Prepare receipts/ invoice in accordance with applicable cargo rates and collect freight charges.
  • Monitor undelivered or rejected consignments. Apply the storage charge as necessary. Notify the Cargo Import and Service Delivery Manager if the consignment is not cleared within the allocated time.
  • Responsible for the correct handling of all paperwork generated by the cargo delivery process and related transactions.
  • Issue Cargo Charges Correction advice and takes follow up action.
  • Ensure that cash and other modes of payments as authorized by Air Seychelles are correctly and accurately handled and tallied with the receipts at the end of each working day, and report any irregularities immediately to the Cargo Import and Service Delivery Manager.
  • Conduct any other related duties as may be required by line management.


Minimum Requirements

  • IGCSE/O’ Level qualification *
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the aviation industry *
  • Conversant with the airline and/or warehouse operations
  • Good knowledge of safety management system
  • Ability to adjust to a continually evolving regulatory environment
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Good financial acumen- Confident with figures
  • Customer service oriented- Good customer service skills
  • Strong communication, verbal and written, and interpersonal skills.  Able to communicate with a wide range of people, including clients
  • Excellent time management- Able to handle multiple tasks and meet short deadlines
  • Good computer literacy – Conversant with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Observant with a keen eye for detail
  • A team player
  • Ability to competently work under pressure
  • Trustworthy and industrious
  • Ability to work under limited supervision
